Real traveler tips for Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates: hostels, food, transport, hikes, activities, hidden gems, night life, social life and costs — shared by travelers who have actually been there.
Transport in Abu Dhabi
- Marcus_Travels: The public buses are actually surprisingly good and super cheap but getting the Hafilat card topped up can be a pain if you aren't near a mall or main station.
Costs in Abu Dhabi
- Jenna: Found it way more expensive than I expected. Even basic stuff in small shops feels pricey compared to back home.
Activities in Abu Dhabi
- ArtBound: Highly recommend doing the Louvre right when it opens. It gets so crowded by 2pm and you lose the peaceful vibe of the architecture.
- SheikhZayedFan: Don't bother with the public beach near the Corniche if it's a weekend, it's absolutely packed.
Food in Abu Dhabi
- nomad_sam: If you want cheap eats, head to the Al Danah area. Lots of Pakistani and Indian spots where you can eat for like 20 AED.
Safety in Abu Dhabi
- Chloe92: I walked around alone late at night and felt 100% safe. Probably the safest city I've ever visited.
Hidden gems in Abu Dhabi
- DesertRose: The Jubail Mangrove Park is a nice break from the skyscrapers. It's really quiet and a different side of the city.
Night life in Abu Dhabi
- Liam_V: Is there actually a nightlife scene here for solo people? Everything seems to be inside hotels and feels a bit stiff.
