Hidden gems in Mons

charlieb: Make sure you actually look for the small iron monkey statue outside the town hall. Apparently you're supposed to pet its head with your left hand for good luck, though it's much smaller than I expected.

Food in Mons

jessicak88: Best places for a quick lunch that isn't just a sandwich? I'm tired of paninis.

Transport in Mons

marcv: The walk from the train station to the Grand Place is kind of a workout with the cobbles and the incline. Don't bring heavy rolling luggage if you can avoid it.
