Real traveler tips for Tenerife in Spain: hostels, food, transport, hikes, activities, hidden gems, night life, social life and costs — shared by travelers who have actually been there.
Hikes in Tenerife
- marcob92: Is it worth trying to get the cable car up Teide or is the hike from the base actually doable in a day? I'm worried about the altitude change.
Food in Tenerife
- lucas__: If you're in the north, look for Guachinches. They are basically garage restaurants serving local wine and massive plates of meat for like 10 euros. Way better than the tourist traps in Las Americas.
Transport in Tenerife
- jenny_x: Titsa buses are actually so reliable. Just get the Ten+ card and top it up, it saves a lot of hassle.
Activities in Tenerife
- sophiek: Is Loro Parque actually ethical? Everyone says to go but I'm not sure about the orcas.
Hidden gems in Tenerife
- tomv: Avoid the south if you want real culture. Spend more time in La Laguna.
