Mumbai, India travel tips
Real traveler tips for Mumbai in India: hostels, food, transport, hikes, activities, hidden gems, night life, social life and costs — shared by travelers who have actually been there.
Transport in Mumbai
- charlieb: Is there a specific trick for using the local trains during rush hour or is it just a lost cause for a visitor? I'm staying in Bandra and need to get down to Fort tomorrow morning.
Food in Mumbai
- oliviar: The sheer amount of street food near Chowpatty is overwhelming. I tried the pav bhaji at a random stall last night and it was genuinely the best thing I've eaten all month.
Social life in Mumbai
- marcob89: Anyone know where the more lowkey spots are to meet people? Most of the bars in Colaba feel a bit too touristy for my liking.
Costs in Mumbai
- itsmatt: Mumbai is way more expensive than I thought compared to the rest of India. Accommodation prices here are actually insane.
Activities in Mumbai
- jennifer_w: Skip the Gateway of India at midday, the heat is brutal. Better to go for a walk along Marine Drive after sunset when everyone is out, the vibe is much better then.
