Food in Varanasi
- sara_m92: Does anyone know where to get the best malaiyo this time of year? I've been told it's mostly a winter thing but I'm hoping to find some now.
Activities in Varanasi
- ryan_p: The evening Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat is incredibly crowded. If you want a better view without the crush, just pay a few rupees to sit on one of the boats parked right in front of the steps.
Transport in Varanasi
- katek: Tuk tuks aren't allowed in a lot of the narrow alleys near the river so be prepared to walk with your bags for at least 10-15 mins if your guesthouse is deep in the old city.
Costs in Varanasi
- liam88: Is 800 rupees a fair price for a private boat tour at sunrise or am I getting totally ripped off?
Hidden gems in Varanasi
- dave_j: Found a tiny library near Assi Ghat that has some really cool old Sanskrit manuscripts if you're into history stuff.
