Real traveler tips for Phuket in Thailand: hostels, food, transport, hikes, activities, hidden gems, night life, social life and costs — shared by travelers who have actually been there.
Transport in Phuket
- charlieb: Is it actually possible to get around Phuket without renting a scooter? I'm not confident on one and the grab prices look insane compared to Bangkok.
Food in Phuket
- jessicaw: Found a really good spot for cheap massaman curry near the old town called Lock Tien. Way better than the touristy places by the beach.
Night life in Phuket
- marcus_82: Bangla road was way too loud and crowded for me. If you want a drink without being shoved every two seconds just stay in the old town area.
Costs in Phuket
- lucask: Phuket is getting so expensive lately, specifically the private boat tours. Anyone know a fair price for a day trip to the islands?
Hidden gems in Phuket
- sarah_m: The hike up to the Black Rock viewpoint is worth it if you want to skip the Big Buddha crowds. The view of Nai Harn is incredible.
